08:43 AM EDT, 06/25/2024 (MT Newswires) -- The Chicago Federal Reserve Bank's monthly National Activity Index rose to a reading of 0.18 in May from negative 0.26 in April, compared with expectations of a reading of negative 0.25 in a survey of analysts compiled by Bloomberg as of 7:40 am ET.
The three-month moving average fell to negative 0.09 from negative 0.05.
Of the 85 individual indicators, 48 made positive contributions to the index in May, while 37 made negative contributions. Some 54 indicators improved in the month, while 29 deteriorated and two remained unchanged.
