May S&P Global US Flash Manufacturing Rise, Services Measure Falls

09:54 AM EDT, 05/21/2026 (MT Newswires) -- The May flash reading of manufacturing conditions from S&P Global rose to a 55.3, a 48-month high, from 54.5 in April, compared with a smaller expected reading of 53.8 in a survey compiled by Bloomberg.

The increase follows mixed readings in the regional manufacturing sector readings from the New York and Philadelphia Federal Reserve banks.

The index for services conditions fell to 50.9 in May from 51.0 in April, compared with expectations for an increase to 51.2.
