US President Donald Trump's two-day visit to India kicks off with the Namaste Trump event at Motera Stadium in Ahmedabad. CNN-News18's Maha Siddiqui gives a ground check on how the visit has panned out so far.

In the 25-minute long address, Donald Trump praised India for its religious diversity and hailed the unity of the country.

He also had a word of praise for Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the humble background that he has risen from. Most importantly, he gave out a sense of what to expect tomorrow at Hyderabad House as far as the discussions between India and the United States are concerned. He also gave a sense of where the trade deal stands at the moment between India and the US.
