11:03 AM EST, 11/21/2024 (MT Newswires) -- The Kansas City Fed monthly manufacturing index rose to a reading of minus 2 in November from minus 4 in October, above expectations for a decline to minus 5 in a survey compiled by Bloomberg as of 7:11 am ET but still indicating modest contraction in the sector.
The increase follows mixed readings for the other regional manufacturing data released so far. The ISM's national manufacturing reading will be released on Dec. 2.
Within the Kansas City data, there were index declines for production, shipments and new orders while the employment reading moved back above its breakeven point.
