October Philadelphia Fed Regional Nonmanufacturing Activity Index Indicates Faster Contraction

08:37 AM EDT, 10/21/2025 (MT Newswires) -- The Philadelphia Federal Reserve Bank's monthly nonmanufacturing activity index fell to minus 22.2 in October from minus 12.3 in the previous month, indicating faster contraction in the sector.

The readings for new orders, prices, employment and sales index all decreased in the month.

The six-month outlooks at both the regional and firm levels declined, with 20.4% of respondents expecting expansion in the region over the next six months compared with 32.7% that expect contraction.
