Consistency of policy is needed to solve crisis in agriculture sector, said Siraj Chaudhry, chairman of Cargill India.
The government and the industry has realised that food processing and agriculture have to work together for the farmer to get good realisation for its crop, said Chaudhry.
There will be some improvement in agriculture sector with normal monsoons being predicted and government trying to take various measures, he added.
"For Cargill, India is an important market as it is a large consuming economy," said Chaudhry. “Our businesses in India are really focused on serving the consumers and customers here."
In the World Food Event in November, the company had announced investments of about $240 million spread across agri, aqua, animal nutrition, and expansion of their food business.
