The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) may raise rates in this week's monetary policy committee meeting, said Arvind Sanger, managing partner of Geosphere Capital Management.

“Whether they (RBI) raise this time or next time, the reality is that interest rates in India have bottomed and are turning up," said sanger.

If growth is there, rate hike is a bad thing, added sanger.

Talking about global markets, Sanger said, “I do not think most Indian companies except a few exceptions such as IT services are dependent on global growth. Most of the sectors in India that are drivers of Nifty are more domestic facing.”
