10:44 AM EDT, 06/13/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Redfin (RDFN) said Thursday that the median US home-sale price reached an all-time high of $394,000 in the four weeks ending June 9, up 4.4% from a year earlier.
The real estate brokerage said in a report the median asking price was up 6% year on year to $417,475.
Pending sales declined 3.5% year on year to 86,604, which was the biggest drop in three months, Redfin said, adding that new listings rose 7.8% year on year to 100,411.
The company said there "are signs that home-price growth could ease soon. Asking prices have leveled off, and 6.5% of home sellers are cutting their asking price, on average, the highest share since November 2022."
Prices are declining in four metro areas: Austin, Texas, Fort Worth, Texas, San Antonio, Texas and Portland, Oregon, the company said.
