State FMs to meet today in Amaravati over 15th Finance Commission
May 7, 2018 4:03 AM

State Finance Ministers will meet on Monday at Amaravati in Andhra Pradesh, to discuss the concerns on the terms of reference (ToR) and recommendations of the 15th Finance Commission.

12 states including Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu would suffer heavily because of the 15th Finance Commission's recommendation to use 2011 census for devolution of funds.

Today's meeting is a follow up to a meet held in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala last month.

The Finance Ministers meeting would push for the 2011 population weightage to remain at 10% and that the 17.5% weightage for 1971 population be allocated to performance-based indicators.
