07:28 AM EDT, 05/14/2024 (MT Newswires) -- US equity futures were uneven before Tuesday's open as traders gear up for the release of last month's producer price index report.

On the economic calendar, in addition to the PPI report at 8:30 am ET, the National Federation of Independent Business' optimism index showed a 1.2-point increase for April to 89.7.

Federal Reserve Governor Lisa Cook is scheduled to speak at 9 am, while Fed Chair Jerome Powell speaks at 10 am. Kansas City Fed President Jeffrey Schmid is slated to speak at 8:15 pm.

GameStop's ( GME ) shares continued to surge 58% pre-bell after closing Monday's trading session with a 74% jump. Home Depot ( HD ) , Alibaba Group ( BABA ) , Sea (SE), On Holding ( ONON ) and International Game Technology ( IGT ) report their latest financial results early Tuesday, among others. Nextracker ( NXT ) posts earnings in the afterhours.
