Dec 10, 2019 4:44 AM

Badrinarayan Temple in Surat has switched to solar power to save electricity and money.

After installing 50-kilowatt capacity solar panels on its terrace, the temple’s electricity bill has dropped to Rs 10-12,000 per month compared to Rs 1.5-2 lakh per month earlier.

The money saved is used to promote education in the area and the temple has opened a college and school for Sanskrit.
