Taiwan president Lai: US tariff rate is 'temporary'

TAIPEI, Aug 1 (Reuters) - Taiwan's President Lai

Ching-te said on Friday the 20% U.S. tariffs is "temporary" and

the government will continue to strive for reasonable tariff

rates and complete the final stage of negotiations.

Once an agreement is reached, the tariff rate is expected to

be reduced further, Lai said in a post on Facebook.
