US announces $1 billion in funding for critical minerals, materials sectors

(Reuters) -The Trump administration will make available $1 billion in funding to accelerate the growth of the U.S. critical minerals and materials sectors, the Energy Department said in a statement on Wednesday.

The department will issue notices of funding opportunities to advance and scale mining, processing and manufacturing technologies in the critical minerals and materials supply chains, the statement said.
