The US-India Business Council's (USIBC) first AGM in India will focus on future opportunities for Indian and US companies, said Nisha Biswal, president of the council.
“We thought to bring our annual meeting to India and also structuring it as an Ideas Summit, what we are really focused on is future of this relationship and the opportunities that the US and India have to connect our future,” said Biswal.
The AGM will take place in September, which coincides with the 2+2 dialogues between India and the US.
The discussions will be on how the US and Indian companies are creating shared value in both countries and how they are contributing to the needs of the society, she said.
There will also be conversations on data privacy and what it means in a digital economy and other important issues including sustainability in our economic development and women empowerment, Biswal added.
On defence cooperation and issue surrounding the purchase of S400 from Russia, she said, it is an issue that needs to be discussed at the highest levels between the two governments, adding that the US-India defence partnership has matured rapidly and it is going into areas of advanced technology, transfer and cooperation.”
“We definitely know that the US-India relationship is one that is going to continue to grow and deepen,” said Biswal.
