Despite the clear skies in many areas, the air quality in the national capital still remained in the 'severe category'. As per the data by the System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting and Research (SAFAR), the overall Air Quality Index (AQI) in Delhi on Friday morning stood at 407.
However, many areas got relief from hazy sky and smog due to the overnight rain that continued till Friday morning despite the AQI remaining in the 'severe' category in these areas.

Meanwhile, SAFAR data showed AQI in Ashok Vihar fell into 'severe' category at 462 while RK Puram reported AQI of 461. Similarly, air quality remained 'severe' in other areas such as Punjabi Bagh with AQI at 460, and ITO at 464 AQI.
Besides the national capital, the NCR including Gurugram recorded an AQI of 416 with 'severe' category while Faridabad and Noida recorded 457 and 375 AQI, respectively.
In view of the static AQI conditions, the Aam Aadmi Party-led Delhi government has invoked the anti-pollution measures. Besides the restrictions on heavy and diesel operated vehicles, the government is also planning an 'artificial rain' to help in reducing the pollution. The Delhi government is planning for seeding the clouds around November 20.
Meanwhile, the GRAP IV guidelines have been already implemented across the city which is also been inspected by several Delhi government ministers. On Thursday, the Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai inspected vehicles and trucks entering Delhi at the Singhu border.
