Q: 31-year-old Chintan Shah writes us from Mumbai. I am investing in Aditya Birla Sun Life Pure Value Fund, SBI Magnum MidCap Fund and IDFC Tax Advantage (ELSS) Fund-Growth via SIP. Is it good for long-term investment since I am investing from the last one year? If not, what to do and in which fund should I invest?
A: The ELSS fund solves your tax 80C needs, so only invest up to the tax saving needs. Keep rotating after three years and can look at Tata Tax Saving etc. You can switch the pure value fund to Frontline Equity within the same fund house. Have the time frame and goals in mind for asset allocation.
