Research Alert: CFRA Keeps Buy Opinion On Adss Of Sony Group
May 26, 2025 1:51 PM

07:15 AM EDT, 05/26/2025 (MT Newswires) -- CFRA, an independent research provider, has provided MT Newswires with the following research alert. Analysts at CFRA have summarized their opinion as follows:

We lift our target price to USD30 (from USD29), based on a 23x FY 26 (Mar.) P/E, still above the five-year average of 19x. We lower our FY 26 EPADS estimate to JPY184 (from JPY189) and initiate FY 27 EPADS at JPY198. For FY 26-FY 27, we project revenue contraction of 1% followed by growth of 3%, primarily reflecting near-term headwinds from U.S. tariff policies. We expect the G&NS segment to benefit from stable growth in network services and major first-party titles, while the Music segment should continue to see high-single-digit growth in U.S. dollar terms. The Pictures segment will be bolstered by major IP releases and Crunchyroll's expansion. We project operating margins to improve to 11.0% in FY 26 and 11.5% in FY 27, driven by a more favorable business mix and operational efficiencies. We believe Sony's ( SONY ) shift toward an asset-light, entertainment-focused model, particularly given its plan to spin-off the Financials division, will improve long-term ROIC.
