Research Alert: CFRA Keeps Hold Opinion On Shares Of Equitable Holdings Inc.
May 26, 2025 12:51 AM

02:25 AM EDT, 05/05/2025 (MT Newswires) -- CFRA, an independent research provider, has provided MT Newswires with the following research alert. Analysts at CFRA have summarized their opinion as follows:

We keep our 12-month target price of $56, valuing EQH shares at 7.2x our 2026 operating EPS estimate of $7.75 and at 8.4x our 2025 operating EPS estimate of $6.70 (cut by $0.05), vs. the shares' one-year average forward multiple of 6.7x and a peer average of 8.9x. EQH posted Q1 operating EPS of $1.30 versus $1.39, lagging our $1.60 EPS estimate and the $1.48 consensus view. Operating revenues declined by 3.9% Y/Y largely due to 3% lower investment income and a 6.3% drop in premiums. Though some of this is seasonal, we lowered our revenue forecast to a rise of 3% to 8% in 2025 and 2026, which assumes economic conditions will soften a bit but remain relatively stable. We applaud the action EQH has taken to reduce its portfolio and build a greater fee-based revenue stream, such as reinsurance a large block of life insurance and increase its stake in AllianceBernstein to 69%. At current levels, the shares trade at 7.5x our 2025 EPS estimate, a premium to its historical averages, and are fairly valued, in our view.
