06:55 AM EDT, 05/08/2025 (MT Newswires) -- CFRA, an independent research provider, has provided MT Newswires with the following research alert. Analysts at CFRA have summarized their opinion as follows:
We lower our 12-month price target to $56 from $59, 25x our 2025 EPS and within its 18x-32x three-year trading range. We raise our 2025 EPS estimate to $2.23 from $2.11 and raise our 2026 EPS estimate to $2.33 from $2.24. Our estimates reflect slightly higher pricing growth, as NYT expanded its multiproduct and bundled subscriber base to 49% of total subscribers from 43% a year ago. We think the result suggests NYT is having success transitioning subscribers from promotional to higher prices along with driving price increases on tenured non-bundled subscribers. However, we limit our enthusiasm as we think consumers are already weary of price increases elsewhere in the economy. Our 2026 estimates reflect a slight deceleration from 2025 to reflect this view. We remain our Hold rating on shares of NYT as we feel shares fairly value these drivers and risks. We find other advertising and publishing peers with more attractive earnings potential at similar or better valuations.
