Research Alert: CFRA Keeps Hold Opinion On Shares Of Power Corporation Of Canada
Mar 25, 2025 11:32 PM

02:10 AM EDT, 03/26/2025 (MT Newswires) -- CFRA, an independent research provider, has provided MT Newswires with the following research alert. Analysts at CFRA have summarized their opinion as follows:

We raise our 12-month target price by CAD3.00 to CAD53.00, valuing POW shares at 9.7x our 2026 operating EPS estimate of CAD5.45 and at 10.4x our 2025 EPS estimate of CAD5.10 (upped by CAD0.10), versus the shares' three-year average forward multiple of 8.7x and a disparate peer average of 11x. POW posted Q4 operating EPS of CAD1.28 versus CAD1.06, topping our CAD1.17 EPS estimate, but lagging the CAD1.39 consensus view. Results reflected 15% higher profits at POW's core Lifeco unit and 23% higher profits at IGM, partly offset by 31% lower profits at GBL and operating losses at Sagard and Power Sustainable. Full-year 2024 EPS of CAD4.58 versus CAD4.47 topped our CAD4.30 EPS estimate, but lagged the CAD4.63 consensus view on similar drivers. Weighing POW's premium valuation versus the shares' historical averages, coupled with some mixed results (outside of Lifeco and IGM), we view the shares as fairly valued versus historical levels, but worth holding given their current yield of 4.5%
