Research Alert: CFRA Keeps Hold Opinion On Shares Of Prudential Financial, Inc.
Aug 6, 2025 10:31 AM

01:05 PM EDT, 08/06/2025 (MT Newswires) -- CFRA, an independent research provider, has provided MT Newswires with the following research alert. Analysts at CFRA have summarized their opinion as follows:

We keep our 12-month target price of $110, valuing PRU shares at 7.6x our 2026 operating EPS estimate of $14.50 (trimmed by $0.25), versus its three-year average forward multiple of 8x and a peer average of 8.2x. We raise our 2025 operating EPS estimate by $0.08 to $13.84, after PRU posted Q2 operating EPS of $3.58 versus $3.39, besting our $3.50 EPS estimate and the $3.22 consensus view. Results reflected a 2.2% drop in operating revenues, paced by 12% lower premiums amid the impact of run-off businesses and lower pension risk transfer activity. YTD operating revenues were down 24% Y/Y though. While we applaud PRU's ability to keep Q2 costs down as well (benefits and expenses were down 3.6% Y/Y), we think the pressure on operating revenues that is likely to persist at least through 2025 removes a catalyst from the shares.
