Research Alert: CFRA Keeps Hold Opinion On Shares Of Prudential Financial, Inc.
Nov 5, 2025 9:58 AM

12:45 PM EST, 11/05/2025 (MT Newswires) -- CFRA, an independent research provider, has provided MT Newswires with the following research alert. Analysts at CFRA have summarized their opinion as follows:

We lift our 12-month target price by $3 to $113, valuing PRU shares at 7.3x our newly initiated 2027 operating EPS estimate of $15.50 and at 7.8x our 2026 EPS estimate of $14.50, versus their one-year average forward multiple of 7.8x and a peer average of 9x. We raise our 2025 EPS estimate by $0.69, to $14.53. Q3 operating EPS of $4.26 versus $3.33 topped our $3.57 EPS estimate and the $3.72 consensus view, reflecting a 20% Y/Y drop in benefits and expenses, which offset by 17% drop in operating revenues. These results reflect a combination of the impact of select runoff businesses, coupled with reduced activity in other areas. Unless PRU's pension risk transfer business activity accelerates significantly, we forecast 2025 operating revenues to be down by 15%. Our forecast of a 3% to 7% rise in operating revenues in 2026 is predicated on a return to "normal" pension risk transfer activity. Against this backdrop, we think the shares lack a catalyst, but they are worth holding for their current yield of 5.2%.
