Research Alert: CFRA Keeps Hold Opinion On Shares Of Sun Life Financial Inc.
Nov 12, 2025 9:55 PM

12:30 AM EST, 11/13/2025 (MT Newswires) -- CFRA, an independent research provider, has provided MT Newswires with the following research alert. Analysts at CFRA have summarized their opinion as follows:

We raise our 12-month target price by USD3 to USD63, valuing SLF shares at 10.6x our newly initiated 2027 EPS estimate of USD5.93 (CAD8.30, converted at the November 12, 2025 spot rate) and at 11.2x our 2026 EPS estimate of USD5.61 (CAD7.85), versus its five-year average forward multiple of 10.5x and a peer average of 9x. We lift our 2025 EPS estimate by USD0.03 to USD5.24 (CAD7.34). SLF posted Q3 EPS of CAD1.86 versus CAD1.76, topping our CAD1.82 EPS estimate and the CAD1.83 consensus view. We view results as mixed, amid a 4.1% rise in operating revenues (versus our 6% to 10% growth forecast), and a 33% decline in U.S. profits, partly offset by 13% higher profits in Canada and a 33% rise in Asia profits. Asset Management earnings were up a mere 1.7% in Q3. Currently trading at 11.3x our 2025 EPS estimate, a premium to peers and historical averages, we view the shares as fairly valued, but acceptable to hold, given their current yield of 4.5%.
