We raise our 12-month target price by $5 to $290, valuing TRV shares at 11x our newly initiated 2027 operating EPS estimate of $26.65 and at 12x our 2026 EPS estimate of $24.70 (raised by $1.20), versus the shares' three year average forward multiple of 12x and a peer average of 13x. We also lift our 2025 EPS estimate by $2.57 to $23.10. TRV posted Q3 EPS of $8.14 versus $5.24, significantly better than our $5.57 EPS estimate and the $6.30 consensus view, on improved underwriting profitability, as evidenced by the Q3 combined ratio of 87.3% (83.9 underlying) versus 93.2% (85.6%). We applaud these results, which benefited from improved weather and claim patterns, but we note Q1 net written premiums rose by a mere 1% and YTD written premium growth was only 3%. While industry pricing trends are softening, TRV's rate of top-line production lags many peers and we believe removes a catalyst from the shares, though we applaud TRV's risk management prowess and believe the shares are worth holding.
