Research Alert: CFRA Keeps Strong Buy Opinion On Shares Of Arch Capital Group Ltd.
May 26, 2025 12:45 AM

02:25 AM EDT, 05/03/2025 (MT Newswires) -- CFRA, an independent research provider, has provided MT Newswires with the following research alert. Analysts at CFRA have summarized their opinion as follows:

We keep our 12-month target price of $110, valuing ACGL shares at 11x our 2026 operating EPS estimate of $9.90 and at 13.6x our 2025 EPS estimate of $8.06 (raised today by $0.56), vs. its one-year average forward multiple of 12x and a peer average of 14x. ACGL posted Q1 EPS of $1.54 vs. $2.45, topping our $0.48 EPS estimate and the $1.31 consensus view, as a 21% rise in operating revenues helped to offset the impact of $547 million of pretax California wildfire claims (vs. an earlier estimate of losses of between $550M and $650M). Despite this, underwriting results remained profitable, evidenced by the Q1 combined ratio of 90.1% vs. 78.8%. While we expect pricing for many lines of property coverage to become more competitive, we view ACGL as well positioned to outperform peers in this environment. Currently trading at 11x our 2025 EPS estimate and at 9.1x our 2026 EPS estimate, we view the shares as undervalued, and see above-peer growth and underwriting profitability metrics as catalysts for the shares.
