Research Alert: CFRA Lowers Opinion On Shares Of Darden Restaurants, Inc. To Sell From Hold
Jun 23, 2025 10:08 AM

12:45 PM EDT, 06/23/2025 (MT Newswires) -- CFRA, an independent research provider, has provided MT Newswires with the following research alert. Analysts at CFRA have summarized their opinion as follows:

We lower our 12-month target by $29 to $187, 18x (down from 20x) our FY 26 (May) EPS estimate and in line with its three-year historical average forward P/E. We lower our FY 26 EPS slightly to $10.39 from $10.83 and set FY 27's EPS at $11.11. DRI deserves credit for recent operational improvements, particularly its successful implementation of Uber Direct partnerships at Olive Garden ( DRI ) and Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen, which have driven same-store sales into the low- to mid-single-digit range. However, FY 26 sales and EPS guidance fell short of consensus expectations. Rather than reflecting management's conservatism, we believe this shortfall indicates the market has already fully recognized DRI's recent growth catalysts. While management plans to accelerate new store openings and drive higher same-store sales, the guidance also incorporates a subdued commodity inflation environment. We lower our opinion to Sell based on our view of heightening downside risks to estimates and full valuation at current levels.
