Research Alert: CFRA Maintains Buy Opinion On Shares Of Apple Inc.
Aug 12, 2025 9:04 AM

11:55 AM EDT, 08/12/2025 (MT Newswires) -- CFRA, an independent research provider, has provided MT Newswires with the following research alert. Analysts at CFRA have summarized their opinion as follows:

Elon Musk has threatened legal action against AAPL, alleging antitrust violations related to rankings of the Grok AI chatbot app, which is owned by his artificial intelligence startup xAI. He essentially says that AAPL is making it impossible for any AI company besides OpenAI to get to the top of the App Store, noting that both X and Grok are not in AAPL's 'Must Have' sections (Grok is #5 in the App Store). Although we understand Musk's point, we note that AAPL doesn't have other popular Apps like Threads (#4 in App Store) in its 'Must Have' section. That said, we highlight that AAPL does have a human touch (global team of editors) to curate content across the Apple ( AAPL ) platform, which could blur the lines a bit. In any case, we don't think investors should look too much into Musk's comments, as AAPL will always have to contend with legal challenges, and most importantly, we don't believe the news has a major impact on our outlook on AAPL's fundamentals and its long-term business prospects.
