03:00 PM EDT, 10/15/2025 (MT Newswires) -- CFRA, an independent research provider, has provided MT Newswires with the following research alert. Analysts at CFRA have summarized their opinion as follows:
We decrease our 12-month target price by $2 to $26, applying a forward P/E of 13.1x our 2026 EPS estimate, a premium to the peer average of 11.7x, as the bank benefits from superior credit quality and a strong net interest margin. We raise our 2025 EPS estimate by $0.02 to $1.84 and increase 2026's by $0.02 to $1.98. FHN delivered strong quarterly results in Q3 2025. However, the stock declined more than 10% after FHN indicated openness to an acquisition. We understand investor concerns given the negative market reaction to the recent Pinnacle-Synovus merger announcement, where both stocks sold off significantly. FHN has experienced similar pain, with shares falling 60% after its failed 2023 acquisition. However, we view the current sell-off as overdone since management indicated the most likely capital deployment would involve smaller tuck-in acquisitions. Still, our reduced multiple of 13.1x (down from 14.3x) reflects increased odds that FHN will be an acquirer rather than an acquisition target.
