Research Alert: CFRA Maintains Hold Opinion On Shares Of Charter Communications Inc.
May 26, 2025 10:26 AM

03:35 PM EDT, 05/19/2025 (MT Newswires) -- CFRA, an independent research provider, has provided MT Newswires with the following research alert. Analysts at CFRA have summarized their opinion as follows:

We raise our 12-month target price by $40 to $440, applying an EV/EBITDA multiple of 7.0x our 2025 estimate, close to its three-year historical average multiple at 7.2x, reflecting our better growth outlook and potential benefits from its acquisition of Cox Communications. We increase our 2025 EPS estimate by $2.20 to $37.80 and raise 2026's by $4.25 to $45.03. CHTR announced a $34.5 billion acquisition of Cox Communications, structured with $4 billion in cash, $6 billion in convertible notes, and $11.9 billion in CHTR stock, while assuming $12.6 billion in net debt. Cox has approximately 6.3 million customers, including 5.9 million who are signed up for internet. Its service is available to 12 million homes across more than 30 states. While the deal adds valuable fiber assets and boosts CHTR's customer count, we don't see how it addresses the fundamental issue with the cable industry, as the company is facing strong competition across all of its businesses.

Real estate investment trusts, or REITs, allow investors to earn a portion of the profits of real estate investing without buying, managing or financing a physical property. REITs are popular among investors for their ability to diversify a portfolio, since they have lower correlations to the performance of stocks and bonds. REIT investors carefully consider dividend yields, since dividends are...
