Research Alert: CFRA Maintains Hold Opinion On Shares Of F5 Inc.
Oct 16, 2025 12:05 PM

02:45 PM EDT, 10/16/2025 (MT Newswires) -- CFRA, an independent research provider, has provided MT Newswires with the following research alert. Analysts at CFRA have summarized their opinion as follows:

F5 says government-backed hackers had long-term, persistent access to its network, which allowed them to steal its source code and customer information. Hackers had access to its BIG-IP product development environment and knowledge management systems, including source code and publicly-undisclosed security vulnerabilities. The company stated that it was not aware of any undisclosed critical or remote code vulnerabilities , and it was not aware of any active exploitation of undisclosed F5 vulnerabilities. It has no evidence of modification to its software supply chain, including its source code and its build and release pipelines. The company goes on to state that the assessment had been validated by cybersecurity research firms. Beyond high-level details, not much is known about who is behind the attack or what the fallout from the attack will be. We hope to get more of an update during its earnings call on October 27 but doubt we will receive much given the nature of the attack.
