10:25 AM EDT, 10/23/2025 (MT Newswires) -- CFRA, an independent research provider, has provided MT Newswires with the following research alert. Analysts at CFRA have summarized their opinion as follows:
We lower our 12-month target by $10 to $75, based on a 2026 P/E of 10.3x, a premium to historic averages, justified by early-cycle market conditions. We lower our adjusted EPS estimates to $6.75 from $7.10 for 2025 and to $7.25 from $7.40 for 2026. We also introduce 2027's EPS at $7.75. Following SAH's significant Q3 earnings miss, we lower our estimates and target while maintaining Hold on SAH. The company's release was the weakest we've seen so far this earnings season from the auto retailers, with the company's Q3 gross margin performance being particularly disappointing (60 bps below consensus). Valuation keeps us on the sidelines, as we prefer other names in auto retail, the only automotive sub-industry we currently rate with a positive outlook. Importantly, one the reasons SAH's earnings growth has lagged auto dealer peers is the significant drop-off in its share repurchases from the robust levels of 2022 ($262M) and 2023 ($178M). We continue to prefer auto retailers who are more generous with cash returns.
