Research Alert: CFRA Maintains Hold Opinion On Shares Of Weyerhaeuser Company
Nov 3, 2025 9:19 AM

11:50 AM EST, 11/03/2025 (MT Newswires) -- CFRA, an independent research provider, has provided MT Newswires with the following research alert. Analysts at CFRA have summarized their opinion as follows:

We decrease our 12-month target price by $1 to $25, 52.1x our 2026 EPS estimate, a premium to WY's three-year average forward P/E of 44.3x as the company maneuvers through lower operating profitability and depressed lumber end-market demand. We decrease our 2025 EPS estimate by $0.12 to $0.31 and lower 2026's by $0.23 to $0.48. We see increased strategic land sales boosting GAAP EPS, but our adjusted EPS target will not be impacted by these one-time gains. We believe lumber pricing is likely to recover in 2H 2026 and EBITDA will improve Y/Y in 2H 2026, which could increase our 2026 EPS estimate by up to $0.15. Management's Q4 outlook sees softness in demand within Timberlands. WY will likely announce long-term strategic plans and discuss its Natural Climate Solutions (NCS) business at the upcoming December investor day. We continue to believe NCS growth could provide high margin, predictable revenue with carbon credit and sequestration deals similar to Occidental Petroleum's (expected to start 2029).
