12:50 AM EDT, 04/10/2025 (MT Newswires) -- CFRA, an independent research provider, has provided MT Newswires with the following research alert. Analysts at CFRA have summarized their opinion as follows:
Following the recent tariff delay, we think WMT can surpass its full-year EPS outlook of $2.50 to $2.60, even as U.S.-China trade tensions escalate. Tariffs with China appear manageable in our view, given tools like sourcing destination shifts, product mix strategies, and price concession negotiations. In addition, we believe WMT forward purchased inventory from China in anticipation of tariffs. Our forecast is supported by WMT U.S. e-commerce now becoming profitable, which happened faster than we expected and has been driven by order densification, automation, digital advertising growth, and customers paying up for faster delivery. We also see less FX headwinds (was expected to be a $0.05 drag), along with strong momentum in high-margin growth areas such as advertising, fulfillment services, subscriptions (e.g., Walmart+, Sam's Club), and data monetization. We lift our 12-month target by $3 to $117, 40x our FY 27 (Jan.) EPS of $2.92 (up from $2.85; FY 26 unchanged at $2.63) vs. 25x five-year mean.
