Research Alert: CFRA Reiterates Strong Sell Opinion On Shares Of Tripadvisor, Inc.
Aug 11, 2025 7:20 AM

10:15 AM EDT, 08/11/2025 (MT Newswires) -- CFRA, an independent research provider, has provided MT Newswires with the following research alert. Analysts at CFRA have summarized their opinion as follows:

We raise our 12-month price target by $1 to $13, 10x our 2026 EPS estimate (from 10x our 2025 EPS view). The multiple reflects the extended timeline for TRIP's transformation as the company navigates ongoing headwinds at its legacy Brand TripAdvisor segment. We raise our 2025 EPS estimate to $1.22 from $1.21 and 2026's to $1.31 from $1.24 based on accelerated margin expansion at Viator (+780 bps Y/Y) and TheFork (+960 bps Y/Y) that exceeded our expectations. We expect significant margin deterioration at Brand TripAdvisor due to structural monetization challenges and intensifying competition from larger platforms. While management signaled further margin expansion at Viator and TheFork in Q3, the company maintained its full-year guidance, suggesting continued drag from Brand TripAdvisor or growth segments nearing peak profitability. This uncertainty and potential margin ceiling supports our cautious multiple compression despite positive operational momentum in newer businesses.
