Big Bank Earnings in Focus as US Equity Futures Tread Water Pre-Bell

07:54 AM EDT, 07/12/2024 (MT Newswires) -- US equity futures were little changed premarket Friday as major bank earnings started pouring in.

Dow Jones Industrial Average futures gained 0.1%, S&P 500 futures increased 0.03%, and Nasdaq futures slipped 0.1%.

JPMorgan ( JPM ) and Wells Fargo ( WFC ) both posted Q2 earnings and revenue that surpassed Capital IQ analysts' estimates, while Citibank (C) is also set to report its financial results before the opening bell.

Oil prices were higher, with front-month global benchmark North Sea Brent crude up 0.7% at $86.03 per barrel and US West Texas Intermediate crude up 1% at $83.45 per barrel.

Producer prices, due for release at 8:30 am ET, are expected to increase by 0.1% in June following a 0.2% decline in May, according to estimates compiled by Bloomberg.

Consumer sentiment, slated for 10 am ET, is expected to come in at 68.5 in July versus June's 68.2.
