05:20 PM EDT, 04/10/2024 (MT Newswires) -- California Water Service Group ( CWT ) said Wednesday its subsidiaries are ready to comply with a new drinking water regulation.

The US Environmental Protection Agency adopted Wednesday the national drinking water standard to protect from exposure to harmful per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances, or PFAS.

The regulation requires water utilities to monitor for PFAS by 2027 and to comply with the maximum contaminant levels and Hazard Index by 2029.
