04:54 PM EDT, 07/30/2024 (MT Newswires) -- CGI (GIB-A.TO, GIB) on Tuesday said CGI Federal, its U.S. unit, agreed to acquire Aeyon, which provides artificial-intelligence services to the U.S. government, for an undisclosed price.
CGI, a global IT and business consulting services firm, said the two companies entered into a definitive purchase agreement on June 22 and the acquisition is expected to close in CGI's fiscal fourth quarter, subject to regulatory approvals.
"We look forward to welcoming the 725 Aeyon employees whose deep experience and expertise in government transformation has meaningfully contributed to the missions of U.S. Federal Government organizations. CGI and Aeyon share the same values and culture, and the combination of our firms further strengthens our position as a partner of choice for end-to-end services and mission-critical solutions across the U.S. Government," CGI Federal president Stephanie Mango said in a release.
CGI shares closed up $0.90 to $150.50 on the Toronto Stock Exchange. The stock was at last look down 0.7% in US after hours, having risen by nearly as much in regular hours.
