The benchmark Sensex closed down 0.84 percent at 33,847.23, its lowest close since April 9. The broader Nifty ended 0.96 percent lower at 10,146.80, its lowest close since April 4.

TCS: Shares of Tata Consultancy Services ended at Rs 1,847.75, dipping 2.7 percent on the NSE. The stock recovered from the day's low at Rs 1,837.
BHEL: Shares of Bharat Heavy Electricals traded two percent higher at Rs 75.40 after the company said its board will consider a share buyback on Thursday. Shares quoted at Rs 74.35, marginally up by 0.54 percent at close.
HDFC: Shares of Housing Development Finance Corp. Ltd settled at Rs 1,692.05, higher by 2.04 percent. The stock traded higher through the day, ending its three-day losing streak.
RCom: Shares of Reliance Communications gained four percent after the Supreme Court allowed the beleaguered telco to pay Rs 550 crore due to Ericsson by December 15. Shares eventually ended lower by 0.46 percent at Rs 10.85.
Kansai Nerolac Paints: The paint stock hit a 52-week low of Rs 343 in intra-day trade, after opening at Rs 370. Shares recovered to end at Rs 365.95, but still lower by 5.35 percent.
ITD Cementation India: Shares snapped their three-day losing streak and rose two percent after the company got orders worth Rs 10.7 billion. Shares quoted at Rs 113 apiece, up 2.12 percent at close.
Trident: Shares of Trident rose 4.3 percent to Rs 66 intra-day, snapping a three days of consecutive fall after the company's promoter bought additional 15.7 lakh shares via open market on October 22. Trident shares settled at Rs 64, up by 2.07 percent.
HPCL: Shares of Hindustan Petroleum Corp. Ltd surged 4.3 percent to end at Rs 219.65, after Brent crude prices moved lower towards $78 per barrel mark.
Indiabulls Housing Finance: Mortgage lender's shares ended higher for yet another session quoting at Rs 739, rising 3.62 percent.
Sun Pharmaceutical: Pharma shares ended up being the top loser on the Nifty, down by nearly five percent and quoted at Rs 576.85.
