Indian shares erased early gains and ended lower on Friday, as investor sentiment remains subdued due to fears of liquidity crunch as well as ahead of the Reserve Bank of India's (RBI) policy meeting next week.

The BSE index closed 0.27 percent lower at 36,227.14 and was down 1.7 percent on week, while the broader NSE index ended 0.43 percent lower at 10,930.45, shedding nearly two percent for the week.

Top gainers this week:
TCS: Shares ended marginally lower by 0.13 percent at Rs 2,186. For the week, it rose 3.8 percent.
Reliance Industries Ltd: RIL shares surged 3.5 percent on a weekly basis, but ended flat at Rs 1254.35.
Axis Bank: The private sector lender gained 2.3 percent this week and ended as the top gainer today, rising 2.71 percent to Rs 616.40 at close.
HDFC Bank: Another private sector bank, which rose two percent this week. Today, it settled at Rs 2,008.50, rising 1.64 percent, adding Rs 32.35 in value to the stock.
Tech Mahindra: The IT firm was up by a percent this week and ended marginally high by 0.13 percent at Rs 747.
Top losers this week:
Indiabulls Housing Finance: The NBFC's shares dipped 19 percent this week. The downtrend continued today as well with the stock settling at Rs 855, dipping another 9.01 percent, losing Rs 84.70 in value.
Yes Bank: The private sector lender has eroded its value 19 percent this week. Today, it hit a fresh low of Rs 165 in intraday trade, recovering later to settle at Rs 184.10, but still down by 9.42 percent at close.
Eicher Motors: The marquee auto share dipped to its 52-week low of Rs 23,523.70 in trade today. This week, shares of Eicher Motors lost 13.4 percent in value. It recovered to close at Rs 24,249, but still down by 2.62 percent.
M&M: Shares lost 10 percent value this week and ended lower by 1.48 percent today to close at Rs 864.50.
Tata Motors: The Tata Group stock lost 12 percent this week and ended at Rs 224 today, falling by just over half a percent.
Among top notable midcap gainers, Indian Hotels surged 7.7 percent and L&T Infotech 3.2 percent. But there were more losers in the midcap space.
The top loser was Infibeam, which crashed 68 percent this week, while Indiabulls Real Estate shares also plunged 28.7 percent.
SREI Infra declined 23.2 percent, KPIT Tech dipped 23 percent. Jet Airways dived 21.5 percent, Dewan Housing Finance Ltd lost 21.5 percent value.
