Markets close in the green; jewellery stocks gain.

The benchmark indices gained for the ninth consecutive day for the first time since January 2015. The NSE Nifty held the 10,500 range and the Sensex gained nearly 100 points. The Nifty Bank and the Nifty Midcap Index closed with a gain of 0.1% each. HDFC, ITC and ICICI Bank were among the top index gainers while Infosys continued to show a downward trend. Among jewellery stocks, Titan closed at a record high ahead ff Akshaya Tritiya. The market breadth turned in favour of advances with the advance-decline ratio at 1:1.

Crisil, Schaeffler India declare quarterly results.

Schaeffler India posted its Q4 results with net profit (GU) at Rs 66 crore against the previous Rs 57.5 crore on a year-on-year basis. The firm posted its revenue (GU) at Rs 521.2 crore versus the previous Rs 461.2 crore on a year-on-year basis.

Crisil's Q1 shows consolidated with the Net Profit (GU) at Rs 82.2 crore versus the Rs 72.1 crore on a year-on-year basis. The consolidated revenue (GU) stands at Rs 420 crore.

Gold prices nudged higher on Tuesday as the U.S. dollar slid to its weakest level in about three-weeks, with the metal also supported by festering worries over U.S.-China trade tensions.

Spot gold had gained 0.2 percent to $1,347.81 an ounce by 0707 GMT, while U.S. gold futures were steady at $1,350.60 an ounce.
