Snapping four-day losing streak, domestic stock markets settled Wednesday's session on a positive note. Sensex and Nifty posted their best gains in 2 weeks. The Sensex gained 428.62 points, or 1.05 percent, to settle Wednesday's trade at 41,323. The Nifty rose by 133.40 points, or 1.11 percent, to end at 12,125.90.

Sentiments improved after finance minister on Tuesday said the government would announce measures to tackle the financial fallout from the coronavirus outbreak amid a fall in new cases in China.
The Nifty MidCap 100 index, meanwhile, advanced 1.49 percent, while the banking gauge, Nifty Bank gained 0.90 percent on Wednesday.
Top percentage gainers on the 50-scrip index were Bharti Infratel, Grasim, Coal India, Zee Entertainment Enterprises and Hindustan Unilever, ending between 2.76 percent and 7.00 percent higher. Reliance Industries, HDFC and HDFC bank contributed the most to the gains on the Sensex.
All the 11 sectoral indices on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) settled higher, with the Nifty pharma index ending 2.32 percent higher.
In stock-specific actions, IRCTC surged 12 percent to hit fresh life time high. It is currently 450 percent up from listing.
Vodafone Idea gained almost 40 percent to record the biggest single-day gain. The surge was mainly on the back of a report that the government is backing a three-private player market and is unlikely to invoke the company's bank guarantees for now.
Aurobindo Pharma posted the biggest 1-day gain after it received an establishment inspection report (EIR) from the US drug regulator. The EIR has been received with voluntary action initiated (VAl) status from the USFDA.
Market breadth was positive, with 1,518 stocks settling higher and 1,011 ending lower on the BSE. On the NSE, 1,179 stocks advanced while 617 declined.
