HEG has seen selling this month because of concerns that the decline in prices of products such as ultra-high power electrodes and a likely rise in operating costs would eat into profits over the coming quarters. Prices of needle coke, the raw material for graphite, have spiked nearly 30%, and therefore, the profit margins are seen shrinking, reports said last week. At 10.39 am, shares of HEG were trading 5.9 percent down at Rs 2,070.9. Shares have fallen nearly 34 percent in the last four sessions. (Cogencis)
