SUMMARY

The Indian market may open higher on Thursday tracking strength in global peers even as investors awaited a clear result of the US election. At 7:00 am, the SGX Nifty was trading 158.50 points or 1.33 percent higher at 12,066.50, indicating a positive start for the Sensex and Nifty50.

PVR, Inox Leisure | The Maharashtra government has allowed cinema halls/theatres/multiplexes to open with 50 percent capacity from November 5.

HPCL | The company reported a net profit of Rs 2,477.4 crore in Q2FY21 as against Rs 1,052.3 crore while revenue declined 14.9 percent to Rs 51,773.3 crore from Rs 60,868.4 crore, YoY. Q2 Gross Refining Margin was at $5.11/bbl versus $2.83, YoY. The board approved Rs 2,500 crore share buyback at Rs 250 per share.

Tata Motors | S&P has revised the company’s outlook to Negative.

United Spirits | The company’s net profit in Q2FY21 declined 42.8 percent to Rs 128.4 crore from Rs 223.6 crore and revenue fell 6.5 percent to Rs 2,145.9 crore from Rs 2,296.2 crore, YoY.

Indian Hotels | The company posted a consolidated loss at Rs 230 crore in Q2FY21 against a profit of Rs 71.3 crore, revenue dropped to Rs 257 crore from Rs 1,007 crore YoY.

Jubilant Life Sciences | The company’s net profit in Q2FY21 fell 10 percent to Rs 224 crore from Rs 249 crore while revenue declined 4.8 percent to Rs 2,375 crore from Rs 2,266 crore, YoY.

Pidilite Industries | The company’s net profit in Q2FY21 rose 9.7 percent to Rs 356.4 crore from Rs 325 crore while revenue rose 4.1 percent to Rs 1,880.3 crore from Rs 1,806.6 crore, YoY.

Godrej Agrovet | The company reported higher consolidated profit at Rs 115.5 crore in Q2FY21 as compared to Rs 102.6 crore while revenue declined to Rs 1,723.9 crore from Rs 1,851.1 crore, YoY.

JK Lakshmi Cement | The company’s net profit in Q2FY21 rose 75.5 percent to Rs 80.6 crore from Rs 45.9 crore while revenue increased 11.7 percent to Rs 1,045 crore from Rs 935 crore, YoY.

Kalpataru Power Transmission | The company reported a higher consolidated profit at Rs 144 crore in Q2FY21 as against Rs 132 crore while revenue fell to Rs 3,032 crore versus Rs 3,216 crore, YoY.

Apollo Tyres | The company’s net profit in Q2FY21 jumped to Rs 200 crore from Rs 83.1 crore and revenue increased 7.4 percent to Rs 4,282.6 crore from Rs 3.985.8 crore, YoY.

SRF | The company reported a 4.7 percent on-year rise in Q2FY21 net profit at Rs 315.2 crore while revenue rose 20.9 percent to Rs 2,100.8 crore from Rs 1,737.8 crore, YoY.

Earnings | Adani Power, Adani Transmission, Berger Paints India, Gujarat Gas, Inox Leisure, Emami, Godrej Consumer Products, ABB India, ICRA, Aditya Birla Capital, AstraZeneca Pharma, Bajaj Electricals, Birla Corporation, Birlasoft, Dalmia Bharat, Dish TV India, Minda Corporation, Spencers Retail, Torrent Power, Trent and Tata Teleservices (Maharashtra), among others.
