Domestic equity, debt and currency markets will remain closed on Friday on account of Mahashivratri. Financial markets will now resume trading on Monday, February 24.

On Thursday, the stock market benchmark index S&P BSE Sensex lost 152.88 points, or 0.37 percent, to settle trade at 41,170.12. The Nifty declined by 45.05 points, or 0.37 percent, to end at 12,080.85. The Nifty MidCap 100 index, meanwhile, advanced 0.67 percent, while the banking gauge, Nifty Bank gained 0.34 percent on Thursday.
The 10-year benchmark bond yield closed at 6.42 percent, while the rupee declined by 10 paise to settle at a more than one-month low of 71.64 against the dollar amid heavy selling in domestic equities and strengthening of the American currency in the overseas market.
