Equity Markets Higher as US, China Trade Talks Continue

03:50 PM EDT, 06/10/2025 (MT Newswires) -- US benchmark equity indexes are on track to close higher on Tuesday, as US and China trade talks continue for the second day.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 0.2% to 42,829.51, while the Nasdaq Composite increased 0.6% to 19,699.85. The S&P 500 was up 0.4% to 6,032.47. Among sectors, energy led the gainers, while industrials and financials were the only decliners.

Intel ( INTC ) shares were up 8.2%, the top gainer on the S&P 500.

Warner Bros. Discovery ( WBD ) shares jumped 5.2%, the second-best performer on the S&P 500, a day after the company said it plans to split into two publicly traded companies, with one focused on streaming and movie business and the other on its television networks portfolio.

J.M. Smucker (SJM) shares were down nearly 15%, the steepest decline on the S&P 500. The food producer provided a full-year earnings outlook below Wall Street's expectations, while its fiscal fourth-quarter sales fell below market estimates.

The 10-year US Treasury yield was down 0.7 basis points to 4.47%, while the two-year rate increased 0.4 basis points to 4.02%.

July West Texas Intermediate crude oil was down 0.9% to $64.72 a barrel.
