03:45 PM EDT, 06/24/2024 (MT Newswires) -- US benchmark equity indexes were struggling for direction before Monday's close as traders awaited key corporate earnings later in the week.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 0.7% at 39,439.6, while the Nasdaq Composite fell 0.6% to 17,580.9. The S&P 500 was little changed at 5,464.1. Among sectors, energy paced the gainers, followed by financials. Only technology and consumer discretionary posted declines.
Micron Technology ( MU ) , Nike ( NKE ) , FedEx ( FDX ) , Carnival (CCL, CUK), Walgreens Boots Alliance ( WBA ) and Levi Strauss (LEVI) are among the major names scheduled to report quarterly financial results this week.
The US 10-year yield fell 1.1 basis points to 4.25%, while the two-year rate was little changed at 4.73%.
West Texas Intermediate crude oil rose 1.1% to $81.67 per barrel.
