08:24 AM EDT, 09/05/2025 (MT Newswires) -- The broad market exchange-traded fund SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust ( SPY ) was up 0.2% and the actively traded Invesco QQQ Trust (QQQ) was 0.5% higher in Friday's premarket activity amid anticipation that soft payroll data will reinforce bets on forthcoming Fed rate cuts.
US stock futures were mixed, with S&P 500 Index futures up 0.2%, Dow Jones Industrial Average futures slipping 0.1%, and Nasdaq futures gaining 0.5% before the start of regular trading.
The August national employment situation bulletin from Washington is due for 8:30 am ET.
The weekly Baker Hughes domestic oil and gas rig count posts at 1 pm ET.
In premarket activity, bitcoin was up by 2.3%. Among cryptocurrency ETFs, the cryptocurrency fund ProShares Bitcoin Strategy ETF (BITO) was 2.2% higher, Ether ETF (EETH) rose 3.1%, and Bitcoin & Ether Market Cap Weight ETF (BETH) was 2.9% higher.

Pony AI (PONY) shares were up more than 2% in recent premarket activity after the company said it has partnered with Qatar's Mowasalat to deploy autonomous vehicles for testing on public roads in Doha, Qatar.
