The S&P 500 and the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose to intraday records after midday on Friday, while the Nasdaq gained 0.1%, erasing earlier losses. Government bond yields traded mixed, and crude oil futures slumped.
Energy
iShares US Energy ETF (IYE) rose 0.1% and Energy Select Sector SPDR (XLE) gained 0.2%.
Technology
Technology Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLK) fell 0.2%; iShares US Technology ETF (IYW) and iShares Expanded Tech Sector ETF (IGM) both declined.
SPDR S&P Semiconductor (XSD) eased 0.2% and iShares Semiconductor (SOXX) dropped 1.1%.
Financial
Financial Select Sector SPDR (XLF) rose 1.1%. Direxion Daily Financial Bull 3X Shares (FAS) advanced 2.8%, and its bearish counterpart Direxion Daily Financial Bear 3X Shares (FAZ) fell 2.8%.
Commodities
Crude oil fell 2.6%, and United States Oil Fund (USO) dropped 2.1%. Natural gas declined 1.2%, and the United States Natural Gas Fund (UNG) lost 1.5%.
Gold fell 0.4% on Comex, and SPDR Gold Shares (GLD) dropped 0.6%. Silver declined 1.2%, while iShares Silver Trust (SLV) shed 1.9%.

Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR (XLP) rose 1.2%; Vanguard Consumer Staples ETF (VDC) and iShares Dow Jones US Consumer Goods (IYK) both climbed.
Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR (XLY) rose 1.4%; retail fund VanEck Vectors Retail ETF (RTH) gained 0.3% while SPDR S&P Retail (XRT) fell 0.6%.
Health Care
Health Care Select Sector SPDR (XLV) rose 1%, while iShares US Healthcare (IYH) and Vanguard Health Care ETF (VHT) climbed. IShares NASDAQ Biotechnology ETF (IBB) gained 0.4%.
Industrial
Select Sector SPDR-Industrial (XLI) rose 1.2%, Vanguard Industrials (VIS) and iShares US Industrials (IYJ) gained.
