Broad-market exchange-traded funds, including IWM and IVV, were lower. Actively-traded Invesco QQQ Trust (QQQ) was up 0.2%.

US equity indexes traded mixed while government bond yields fell by midday after the wholesale price inflation rate unexpectedly declined.

Energy

iShares US Energy ETF (IYE) lost 1.3% and Energy Select Sector SPDR (XLE) was 1.2% lower.

Technology

Technology Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLK) was up 0.3%; iShares US Technology ETF (IYW) and iShares Expanded Tech Sector ETF (IGM) were higher.

SPDR S&P Semiconductor (XSD) fell 0.7% while iShares Semiconductor (SOXX) was 0.5% higher.

Financial

Financial Select Sector SPDR (XLF) fell 0.6%. Direxion Daily Financial Bull 3X shares (FAS) were down 1.8% and its bearish counterpart Direxion Daily Financial Bear 3X Shares (FAZ) was up 2%.

Commodities

Crude was up 0.1%; United States Oil Fund (USO) was up 0.2%. Natural gas was down 2% and the United States Natural Gas Fund (UNG) fell 2.5%.

Gold was 1.8% lower based on Comex, and SPDR Gold Shares (GLD) lost 1.1%. Silver was down 4.6% and iShares Silver Trust (SLV) contracted 2.7%.

Consumer

Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR (XLP) fell 0.1%; Vanguard Consumer Staples ETF (VDC) and iShares Dow Jones US Consumer Goods (IYK) were lower.

Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR (XLY) was 0.1% lower; retail fund VanEck Vectors Retail ETF (RTH) was trading down 0.5% and the SPDR S&P Retail (XRT) fell 1.3%.

Health Care

Health Care Select Sector SPDR (XLV) fell 0.7% and other funds iShares US Healthcare (IYH) and Vanguard Health Care ETF (VHT) were lower. Biotech ETF iShares NASDAQ Biotechnology ETF (IBB) was down 0.7%.

Industrial

Select Sector SPDR-Industrial (XLI) was down 1.3%, and other industrial funds iShares U.S. Industrials (IYJ), and Vanguard Industrials (VIS) were lower.
