Broad-market exchange-traded funds IWM and IVV were mixed with the latter advancing. Actively traded Invesco QQQ Trust (QQQ) gained 0.7%.
US equity indexes turned higher after midday trading on Friday, while government bond yields and crude oil futures dropped.
Energy
iShares US Energy ETF (IYE) dipped 0.7% and Energy Select Sector SPDR (XLE) dropped 0.6%.
Technology
Technology Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLK) edged up 0.4%; iShares US Technology ETF (IYW) and iShares Expanded Tech Sector ETF (IGM) were also higher.
SPDR S&P Semiconductor (XSD) shed 0.2% and iShares Semiconductor (SOXX) was fractionally lower.
Financial
Financial Select Sector SPDR (XLF) added less than 0.1%. Direxion Daily Financial Bull 3X Shares (FAS) climbed 0.2%, and its bearish counterpart Direxion Daily Financial Bear 3X Shares (FAZ) fractionally lower.
Commodities
Crude oil fell 1.4%; United States Oil Fund (USO) was 1.4% lower. Natural gas slumped 3.4%, and the United States Natural Gas Fund (UNG) lost 2.2%.
Gold rose 0.9% on Comex, and SPDR Gold Shares (GLD) advanced 1%. Silver climbed 4.1%, and iShares Silver Trust (SLV) jumped 4.2%.
Consumer
Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR (XLP) rose 0.1%; Vanguard Consumer Staples ETF (VDC) added 0.2%, while iShares Dow Jones US Consumer Goods (IYK) dropped less than 0.1%.
Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR (XLY) gained 0.5%; retail fund VanEck Vectors Retail ETF (RTH) was fractionally higher, while and SPDR S&P Retail (XRT) was down 0.1%.
Health Care
Health Care Select Sector SPDR (XLV) climbed 0.4%; iShares US Healthcare (IYH) and Vanguard Health Care ETF (VHT) were also advancing. iShares NASDAQ Biotechnology ETF (IBB) was up 0.2%.
Industrial
Select Sector SPDR-Industrial (XLI) edged up 0.3%; Vanguard Industrials (VIS) and iShares US Industrials (IYJ) were also higher.
